NISM’s MFD CPE Programme

National Institute of Securities Market (NISM) has empanelled CIEL to provide  continuingNISM CPE FAQ professional education (CPE) programmes for revalidating the mandatory certification for distributing mutual funds. This replaces the refresher course that used to be conducted under the auspices of the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) for renewal the ARNs.

As per NISM’s revised guidelines, from 15th June 2013 onwards, it is mandatory for the candidates to attend 1 day NISM CPE programme within a period of 12 months prior to the expiry of their certificate. 

CIEL conducts the 1 day classroom sessions based on the curriculum approved by NISM which includes a recap of important concepts and an update on the current developments in the industry with respect to products, processes, regulation and compliance. The 1 day session concludes with a quiz. Participants are provided a certificate of participation by NISM. This CPE certificate revalidates the eligibility of the following who are required to have a valid certification to be able to sell or distribute mutual fund products:



AMFI renews the ARN issued to the distributors on submission the certificate after completion of the CPE programme.

To participate in the CPE program, an individual can either register directly with CIEL at or through a mutual fund which arranges a CPE program with CIEL for a group of its distributors.
